I am a University Student studying for a Bachelors of Arts in Peace Studies and a double minor in Environmental Studies and Sociology. I have a strong passion for political, global, and environmental issues and feel it is important for us to look towards the future. I believe that it is important to take in account political, global, and social aspects of environmental issues.
Ever since I was little my family has emphasized the importance of making as little of an impact on the environment as possible. It started with recycling, composting, picking up trash, not wasting food, electricity or water. As I got older my family expanded to more new environmental changes. At my dad’s house we installed solar panels, to decrease electricity use, long before they became popular, he was featured in a local newspaper. At my mom’s house we started collecting rain water to use for irrigation, use a solar cooker as much as possible, and started a worm compost bin. They have greatly influenced my view of the environment and I thank them for instilling good values towards the environment.
There is a sufficiency in the world for man’s need but not for man’s greed.
